Writing all them books

Approximately thirty six books later, and forty years on, Ned has managed to write about many different aspects of Black Country history: Transport; "Werk" in the Black Country; the world of retailing - particularly the Co-op; the life of the fairground and the circus; Cinema and Theatre history; and recently an exploration of the world of non-conformist chapels. Several Black Country towns have occupied much of Ned's attention, including his adopted home towns of Dudley and Wolverhampton. Also Quarry Bank and Netherton have played a big part in his life. Ned's researches have concentrated on people and the stories they have to tell rather than abstract historical information.
